BLACK delivered a sophisticated workplace fitout for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) at BNZ Place, transforming a base-build floor into a refined, high-performance environment. The project reflects a considered approach to materiality, spatial planning, and functionality, supporting both client engagement and staff wellbeing.

BLACK was engaged under an Early Contractor Involvement model to deliver a full office fitout across two levels, including demolition of the existing tenancy and delivery of new front-of-house and back-of-house environments.

The works included complete strip-out of the existing fitout, basebuild bathroom refurbishment, and make-good works to basebuild elements. New floor finishes were installed throughout, including solid timber, tile, carpet tile, and vinyl, alongside feature lighting and high-end joinery.

Front-of-house areas featured bespoke timber wall panelling and a refurbished lift lobby on Level 28, incorporating an antique mirrored ceiling. Back-of-house spaces included new meeting rooms and open plan work areas.

The project also included installation of new ceiling systems (2-way grid, perforated GIB, and solid), feature painting including Porters Paint finishes, operable walls with supporting structure, and mechanical and electrical basebuild modifications.

A key component of the project was a mid-project value engineering phase, requiring close collaboration with the client and consultants to align scope and budget while maintaining design intent. Delivery within a live tower environment required careful management of noise and vibration, particularly with tenants located below and adjacent to the works.
