Situated in the new 40 Bowen Street development, the BLACK team are proud to have delivered a bright, modern and functional new workspace to suit Fujitsu's changing needs and bring their Wellington workplace up to Fujitsu’s global standards.

BLACK was engaged by Fujitsu under an ECI engagement to deliver their new Wellington head office. With BLACK already delivering a project directly below their space in the new 40 Bowen Street development, this provided detailed insights that would serve to benefit Fujitsu and allow for accelerated ‘impact’ works required below the slab soffit - ensuring minimal disruption to the incoming below tenant and reduction in costs associated with re-entry during the forecasted delivery period.

We worked proactively with the project team through the developed design stages to identify and workshop value engineering strategies, comprehensively review and comment on architectural detailing, co-ordinate documentation against site conditions, and accelerate long lead procurement items. All this resulting in minimal variations, no procurement delay, and a streamlined on-time project delivery which all came in on budget.

The project consisted of a large number of meeting and quiet rooms, flexible training & collaboration areas which could be reconfigured in a number of ways to suit the business needs, feature lighting installations, joinery and wall cladding installations, addition of an accessible WC, and expansive open workspace. BLACK also worked with Fujitsu’s Global delivery team to seamlessly implement business-wide audio visual, security, and IT installations.

  • Problem solving to achieve programme and scope of works due to the resource and lead time difficulties affecting the market from the Covid-19 pandemic.
