Precinct Properties new Auckland head office presents a modern and functional workspace that showcases Precinct’s commitment to environmental sustainability and efficiency.

Appointed under an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) arrangement, BLACK’s early engagement commenced during the initial stages, allowing for comprehensive pre-construction design and cost evaluations. The ECI approach delivered significant pre-construction design and cost reviews, leading to budget reductions and substantial cost savings. The engagement enabled for the development of a well-coordinated compilation of design documentation, ultimately minimising the occurrence of project-related Requests for Information (RFIs).

Collaborating with Warren & Mahoney’s architectural team, the project was characterised by meticulous architectural detailing that adhered to a consistent design theme throughout the interior fitout. The overarching design objective was to encapsulate the business’s evolution through past, present, and future perspectives. The attainment of a 5-Star Green Star Rating stood as a key objective for Precinct, underscoring their dedication to environmental sustainability.

Outside of the design specification and material selection phase, BLACK worked tirelessly with our subcontractors and consultants to enact multiple facets of the Green Star system. This included strict waste tracking and recycling methods throughout both the demolition and construction phase to achieve +75% landfill diversion rate. BLACK identified a number of waste minimisation strategies, including selected demolished materials for reuse and re-purposing.
