BLACK was appointed to deliver the fitout and lobby upgrade of Securitease’s office space in Petone, Wellington, transforming the workplace into a refined, functional, and welcoming environment.
The project involved the staged demolition of the existing fitout, carefully managed to ensure minimal disruption, and the creation of a new workplace designed to balance functionality with comfort. The reconfiguration introduced a variety of spaces including breakout zones for informal collaboration, focus rooms for individual concentration, and formal meeting areas to support both group discussions and client engagements.
High-end finishes were applied throughout, with each zone defined by distinct detailing that contributed to an overall cohesive aesthetic. Soft landscaping and planting were integrated to promote wellbeing and offset the sophistication of the finishes, creating a workplace that feels both refined and inviting.
From a delivery perspective, curved and rendered joinery elements required modular design and fabrication to overcome building lift-size limitations, while international procurement posed challenges due to global shipping delays. Careful sequencing, early supplier engagement, and proactive communication were critical in managing these complexities and maintaining programme certainty.
