Location: Auckland
Type: Fitout
Value: $2.2M
Size: 450m²
Timeframe: 13 Weeks
BLACK was engaged by Penina Trust to deliver a staged fitout and refurbishment project at their Papakura facility. With Portion 1 now complete, the project demonstrates strong early-stage delivery across a complex interior environment, setting a solid foundation for the remaining stages (Portions 2–5), which are currently in progress.
The Penina Trust Fitout is being delivered in multiple stages, with Portion 1 focusing on establishing key functional and finished spaces within the existing facility. This stage included the construction of timber and aluminium partitions, installation of bulkheads and doors, and delivery of suspended and direct-fix ceiling systems, including feature ceilings with seismic support requirements.
A range of architectural finishes were installed, including Autex linings, wall tiling, limewash paint finishes, and flooring systems such as carpet tiles, ceramic tiles, and polished concrete. Specialist elements, including a vertical bi-fold door and operable wall, were also incorporated.
The works required full integration of building services, including electrical and feature lighting, data, security and access control systems, hydraulic services (including kitchen and bathroom fixtures), mechanical systems, and fire services. These were delivered within the constraints of an existing structure, requiring careful coordination and sequencing to ensure successful installation.
