SkyCity Production Kitchen

sKYcITY production KITCHEN

Client: SkyCity

Location: Auckland

Type: Fitout

Value: $14.6M

Size: 1,400m²

Timeframe: 29 Weeks

The SkyCity Production Kitchen refurbishment involved a complete demolition of the existing kitchen, a full services upgrade, and installation of a new kitchen to meet updated client requirements.

The project required phased delivery due to the complexity and duration, compounded by cast-in drain manufacturing delays, which necessitated sub-phasing to maintain progress and ensure a high-quality epoxy flooring finish. New refrigeration systems were installed, with plant procurement adjusted mid-delivery due to freight limitations.

Upgrades extended to the loading dock and hotel services, meticulously scheduled to minimise disruption during peak occupancy. Full services upgrades (electrical, mechanical, fire, refrigeration, etc.) required intricate planning, including high-level installations above an operational car park and precinct-wide service isolations impacting gaming floors.

Despite significant design changes and reworks, BLACK collaborated closely with clients and stakeholders to re-map the programme, adjust phasing, and achieve the original completion date without disrupting operations or relocation plans.
