The Symphony Show Suite is located on the ground floor of Bledisloe House in Auckland CBD. Designed and constructed to offer a glimpse into the future Symphony Residences, the space embodies refined city living with high-quality materials and premium craftsmanship.
The fitout includes timber framing with seismic restraint to ensure structural stability. Plasterboard linings were installed throughout the suite. Recesses were cut into partitions to accommodate client-supplied AV equipment. The flooring was prepared and screeded to provide a level surface. The walk-in wardrobe is carpeted in 100% NZ Wool, and the bathroom features porcelain wall and floor tiles. The kitchen and dining areas have timber flooring, while custom joinery in the kitchen, bathroom, and entrance incorporates natural stone benchtops. Drapery encloses the show suite, creating separation from the rest of the floor.
Working within an older building presented unique challenges, particularly regarding the flooring. The original plan to polish the concrete was not feasible, requiring an alternative solution. The team implemented a floor screeding method to achieve the desired level and finish. Additionally, the suite was established within a recently demolished space, requiring careful planning and execution to meet design and quality expectations.
The project was successfully delivered on programme and within the client’s PQS cost parameters. The result is a sophisticated and inviting space that effectively showcases the elegance and quality of The Symphony Residences, setting the standard for future city living.
