Located at 16 Bassant Avenue in Penrose, Auckland, The District project stands as a successful example of BLACK's expertise in construction. Comprising seven workshop units, this new build project involved a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing building along with a new extension.
The scope of The District project included the extension of an existing structure, involving extensive excavation, the installation of new footings, a concrete slab, and a steel structure. The exterior was closed with Korok panelling and a long-run roofing system. The interior transformation encompassed the creation of six commercial suites, each featuring staircases, mezzanine levels, entrances, large commercial roller door garage doors, raised accessible WC’s, polished concrete, vinyl, and carpet floor finishes. Additionally, the project included meticulous attention to joinery and internal linings throughout the building.
The site modification extended beyond the building itself, involving civil works, upgraded and new essential services from the street, car parking facilities, landscaping, signage, and fencing.
